Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a robust compliance and legal framework within jurisdictions where the group operates to ensure that the business operations are consistent with the group’s policies and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Review and identify legal or regulatory compliance issues concerning each business unit and/or arising from the business activities, advise and provide commercial solutions to minimize legal risks and enable the management to make informed strategic decision within an acceptable risk.
- Monitoring changes in laws and regulations that may impact the group’s business, and recommend actions and measures to the management.
- Support and provide recommendation to Chief Legal Officer and board committees in enhancing the group’s corporate governance practices, internal control system and policy-making from time to time.
- Draft, vet, review, advise, negotiate and perfect various types of documents and contracts in support of the group’s business in jurisdictions where the group operates.
- Provide support in the event of disputes or potential disputes and litigation matters and conduct internal investigations.
- Where appointment of an external law firm is needed, provide appropriate instructions on the relevant transaction and supervise the performance of services by the external law firm.
- Assist and support the corporate secretarial function of each company within the group.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient with MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
